MySpace For, Well, Grown-Ups

Bookslut calls Library Thing "the MySpace for people who are over 16 and can spell." Hahahahaha! I would add, "...and who experience a feeling of extreme repugnance when faced with the excessive graphic use of poorly illustrated hearts, flowers, teddy bears, affectionate animals, and sparkly...things."

*shudder*

Is that mean? Am I being mean?

But...let's get back to Library Thing. How could you possibly decided which books to catalog? How would you?

oh, how funny you posted on this; starting a catalog at Library Thing has been on my list of things to do just these past few days. it looks really interesting, and i was planning to just put in everything i have -- er, is that allowed, or is there some limit?

and, um, don't your children love sparkly and such things?

Hahahahhaa! Oh, yes, the girls love sparkly things. But they're, you know, four-years-old and six-years-old....

For a free account, I think there's a limit of 200 books? Something like that. I think I'm going to catalog just what I'm currently reading.

oic, you're making fun of the grownups who like sparkly and such things. gotcha.

now, what do you think about those who still love hello kitty? i don't think it's so bad, myself, especially when she's drawn with a mouth (i'm not saying i love hello kitty, but i know at least a couple of adult women who just have this "thing" for her).

good to know about that 200-limit. i think i'll start with most loved to least. that should work. and do you really have 200 books you're currently reading? damn, v!

OMG, no! Not currently reading 200 books! Maybe fifteen or twenty, though, that I dip in and out of. You're gonna do loved-to-least?! That will be amazing. Did you see there's one guy on there with more than 9,000 books?!

And...

I have to admit I have a soft spot for all things Sanrio, and thus can excuse any grown-up for having—within reason—a psychological connection to Hello Kitty, Kiki, Lala, Patty, Jimmy, or My Melody. As long as said characters are presented in a way that remains true to the Sanrio aesthetic. I sound crazy.

BTW, I solved my hair dilemma by going back to my natural waves 'til it grows out. Feels good, actually...
