Ewwww. Ewwww. Ewwww.

Back when I was far more conscious of what I was eating, I referred to hot dogs as "nitrate-filled death tubes." I'm not so hard-core today, and have been known to indulge—with the kids, of course—in the occasional National Hebrew reduced fat beef frank. They taste better than any other hot dog, and I like their slogan: "We answer to a higher authority." It's so cheeky.

Okay, but none of that is really the "Ewwww" part of this post. The "Ewwww" part of this post can be found when you click on this link.

Now. The Delfino mini-reunion is at my house on Saturday, and I realize I've just completely set myself up for someone bringing a big 'ol platter of Octodogs, but I'm just telling you right now: you will not gain entrance.

This, I swear.

ok, that's just scary! I just don't want to know what's inside the hotdog.

but the big question is, are your relatives going to use the Philippine hotdogs, the ones that can dye your skin red from the food coloring they use on them?

See, now I was wondering if they made a small version so you could make octo-sausages...vienna style...

....with shelled edamame. Hahahahahahahaha! We'll miss you, AG!

I think I could make them without the machine. Hmmmm, cloves for eyes? Green olives would look huge. I'll have to think about this for the rest of the day at work.

This might also work well on bratwurst. Slimey gray ones.

Don't forget to use those atomic red dye #6 Filipino hot dogs that gura's talking about. And vienna sausage (Bec!) for the babies...

And, submerse them in blue or green jello. We have a meal!

okay... so when i first read this post, i thought that an octodog was some new hot dog made from OCTOPUS!!!!!! with that assumption, i just couldn't bring myself to click on the link. Now after clicking on the link, i'm not sure that a hotdog made from Octopus (octopi???) would have been all that bad.
one more thing... why mess with the perfection of a hot dog?
oh wait... one more thing. are they going to invent an Octodog Bun? My mind is reeling wondering what that would look like.
